Applications: A vitamin with a key role in normal brain and nervous system functioning. Involved in the metabolism of every cell in the human body. Produced only by bacteria and archaea. Used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency, cyanide poisoning and hereditary deficiency of transcobalamin II. Vitamin B12 deficiency causes severe irreversible damage. Fatigue depression and poor memory occur with slightly lower levels than normal.
