Large amounts of sulfur are converted to sulfuric acid, which is considered an excellent indicator of a country's industrial well-being due to its use of extracting phosphate ores. Used as a component of fertilizers. Used as a bactericide in winemaking and food preservation in the form of sulfur dioxide gas. Also used in pharmaceuticals for the treatment of acne and other skin conditions. |
