Applications: | A labeled ambiphilic bile acid. A taurine conjugate of ursodeoxycholic acid. Found in large quatities in bear bile. Only trace amounts found in humans. Used to treat gallstones and liver cirrhosis. Used in the US as a treatment for biliary cirrhosis. Has diminishing apoptotic effects, helps with cardiac function, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, and stroke. Also has protective effects in the eye. |
